VTB United League club Tsmoki-Minsk has won the Belarusian championship for the 9th time.
Alexander Krutikov’s men swept Grodno-93 in the finals, 3-0, to claim the title. After two road victories (107-68 and 101-85), Tsmoki-Minsk clinched the championship with an 86-79 win in Minsk.
Tsmoki-Minsk center Aliaksandr Semianiuk was named the finals MVP, averaging a double-double in the finals: 16.7 points and 10.7 rebounds per game.
– Before the game started, I was worried the players might be too relaxed, – noted Alexander Krutikov. – Our opponent fought hard at the beginning and even kept it close after halftime, but the final quarter put everything in its place. I’m happy we became champions.
