Ilona Korstin, the General Manager of the League:
– The first Super Cup last year was bright and proved to be a separate prestigious tournament where the best teams of the League could test their strength before the start of the season. This year we have increased the number of teams and changed the format – now the tournament will be in 4 days. We have done a lot of work to ensure that foreign teams will play in the Super Cup. 2 other teams will be announced very soon.
From September 22 to 24 at VTB Arena 6 teams will be divided into two groups and will play with each other. On the final day on September 25 the Super Cup winner will be determined as well as the teams that got 3rd and 5th places.
Zenit and CSKA still have memories with the incredible final of last season, UNICS and Loko gave out a bright series for 3rd place, so it will be interesting to see the rivalry of these teams now – with new rosters before the start of the season. In the offseason, new great players came to the League who will be able to demonstrate their talents at the upcoming Super Cup in Moscow.

For the first time, the VTB United League Super Cup was in Moscow at the VTB Arena in September 2021. CSKA, UNICS, Zenit and Lokomotiv Kuban played and the Army team became the first champion of the tournament.
