VTB United League President Sergey Kushchenko participated in Sergey Belov memorial plate opening ceremony.
The memorial plate of Belov, who made an invaluable contribution to the development of Russian and Perm basketball, was installed on June 12 in Perm on the Walk of Glory.
The main basketball trophy of the VTB United League, the Belov Cup, was named in honor of the great player and coach.

– All of us were once very lucky that Sergey Belov in his homeland, Perm, fulfilled his talent as a coach and formerly the greatest player. The conversion of Sergey and the love of Perm, Perm Region, Perm basketball fans gave such a champion symbiosis for a long time – probably forever. His beautiful words «Perm is the best city for basketball» gave a start to the city’s love for this sport, so much so that all of Russia’s national basketball teams have never lost here. The results of Ural-Great, the national teams, PARMA confirm that Perm is the basketball capital of Russia. I am really happy that in my native Perm, on City Day, the Star of Sergey Belov appeared on the Walk of Glory. This is another confirmation of the respect of the residents of the city, Perm and the Perm Region government for what was once born and developed here.
Sergey Belov did not know how to lose and taught us all to do so. There are many titles in basketball throughout the country named after Sergey Belov, including the VTB United League Belov Cup. Many basketball projects were born in Perm and have become federal – just take the ASB and the KES-BASKET. The legacy is not going away, and this is not the first season that PARMA has been ranked first in attendance in the United League. Part of Sergey Belov hard work has remained here in Perm forever and for a long time.
