43 VTB League players are invited to National teams for qualification

Qualification games for the championships of continental tournaments-2021 and pre-qualifications for the World Cup-2023 will be held from February 20 to 24. 44 basketball players and 3 coaches of VTB United League teams received a call to their national teams.

Qualification for the European Championship 202

National team of Russia expanded roster includes 13 League representatives: Evgenii Baburin, Ivan Strebkov, Anton Astapkovich, Pavel Antipov (all of them  from Nizhny Novgorod), Dmitriy Kulagin, Vitaly Fridzon, Grigoriy Motovilov, Stanislav Ilnitskiy, Vladimir Ivlev (all of them from Lokomotiv-Kuban), Maxim Grigoryev, Evgeny Valiev (both from PARMA), Denis Zakharov (Enisey) and Artem Klimenko (UNICS). The Russian National team will play against Italy on the road (February 20) and at home with Northern Macedonia (February 24).

The rival of the Russian National team in the group is the Estonian National team. They invited 6 players from Kalev for the February games: Martin Dorbek, Janari Joesaar, Kristjan Kitsing, Tanel Kurbas, Sander Raieste and Martin Paasoja. The Estonian team will play on the road with Northern Macedonia (February 20) and then will play vs Italy at home (February 23).

The National team of Latvia has 3 representatives of the United League: Merekes Mejeris (PARMA), Aigras Skele and head coach Roberts Stelmahers (both from Kalev). Latvians will play agaist Bosnia and Herzegovina at home (February 21) and against Bulgaria on the road (February 24).

Two Polish basketball players – Lukasz Koszarek and Jaroslav Zyskowski (both from Zielona Gora) will help their National team in games against Israel at home (February 20) and vs Spain (February 23).

The Lithuanian team invited Mindaugas Kuzminkas and Mantas Kalnietis (both from Lokomotiv-Kuban) for games against Belgium on the road (February 21) and against Czech Republic at home (February 24).

The guard Nikola Rebic (Enisey) with the National team of Serbia will play against Finland on the road (February 20) and with Georgia at home (February 23).

There is a representative of the United League in the National team of Sweden: Ludvig Hakanson (Zielona Gora) will play against Croatia on the road (February 21) and against Turkey at homeland arena (February 24).

Qualification for the Asian Cup-2021

The expanded National team of Kazakhstan roster includes 10 representatives of the United League: Vadim Shcherbak, Rustam Murzagaliyev, Aleksandr Zhigulin, Robert Pan, Maxim Marchuk, Askar Maidekin, Aleksandr Gavrilov, Andrey Litvinenko, Ruslan Aitkali and head coach Emil Rajkovikj (all of them from Astana). The national team of Kazakhstan will play against Palestine at home (February 21) and against Jordan at home as well (February 24).

European pre-qualification for the World Cup 2023

Belarus National team invited 8 United League representatives for games against Cypris on the road (February 20) and  against Portugal at home (February 24): Yauheni Beliankou, Maxim Salash, Aliaksei Trastsinetski, Andrei Stabrouski, Uladzimir Verameyenko, Aliaksandr Pustahvar, Vitali Liutych, head coach Rostislav Vergun (all of them from Tsomki-Minsk).
