Turning Point
Early in the 3rd quarter, Nizhny Novgorod trailed by only one possession, 58-55, before Aaron White and Ryan Toolson sparked Zenit to a big run, stretching the lead to double digits.
Ivan Strebkov and Kenny Boynton were able to bring Nizhny back into the game and Tomislav Zubcic sliced the deficit to three on a 3-pointer with 15 seconds remaining. But Stefan Markovic was able to convert one of two free throws and Boynton’s final three-point attempt missed the mark. Zenit picks up its eight-straight win, easing past Lokomotiv into 2nd place, one game behind CSKA.
