On Wednesday, September 16, TASS press center hosted online press conference on the start of new season. The participants were VTB United League honorary president Sergey Ivanov, president Sergey Kushchenko and general director Ilona Korstin.
During the press conference, budgets of 9 Russian clubs were revealed.
Like last season, CSKA is the club with the largest budget: 2,38 bln roubles. Other top 3 clubs are Khimki (2.149 bln) and Zenit (1.5 bln). The followers are Lokomotiv-Kuban (1.076 bln), UNICS (0.85 bln), Nizhny Novgorod (302 mln), Enisey (237 mln), PARMA (294 mln) and Avtodor (208 mln).
2020/21 season was presented at the conference. Khimki and Zenit will play the season-opener on September 20. The season’s motto is We are all United.
“We start the season with the motto We are all United,” told League general director Ilona Korstin. “We wanted to show that sport – basketball in our case – shall be the factor that unites people after all the troubles, sickness and dangers.”
