The 5th VTB United Youth League regular season concluded on Monday.
10 teams from Russia played in the League this season. Formed in 2013 under the VTB United League label, the competition features players 20 and under. The top eight teams in the League advance to the postseason.
Khimki-2 captured the regular season title, posting a 30-6 record. Samara-2 (27-9) and Lokomotiv-Kuban-2 (26-10) round out the top three. The remaining Final Eight teams are UNICS-2 (20-16), CSKA-Junior (18-18), PARMA-2 (16-20), Zenit-2 (15-21) and Nizhny Novgorod-2 (12-24). Two teams missed out on the postseason: Avtodor-2 (11-25) and Enisey-2 (5-31).
The VTB United Youth League champion will be decided in the Final Eight, which will be held in Samara from April 22-24.
These are the quarterfinal match-ups: Khimki-2 – Nizhny Novgorod-2; Samara-2 – Zenit-2; Lokomotiv-Kuban-2 – PARMA-2; and UNICS-2 – CSKA-Junior. The winners of the 1st and 4th pairings and the winners of the 2nd and 3rd pairings will play each other in the semifinals.
