VTB United Youth League Season Tips Off

CSKA-2 defeated Enisey-2, 108-60, in Krasnoyarsk to open the VTB United Youth League season.

11 Russian teams are entered in the 4th edition of the competition: CSKA-2, Khimki-2, Lokomotiv-Kuban-2, UNICS-2, Rostelekom-Nizhny Novgorod, Enisey-2, Zenit-2, Avtodor-2, Parma-2, Superleague club Samara’s youth squad, and newcomer COP-Spartak, featuring the best Russian talent in St. Petersburg.

The league format has not changed. Each team will play each opponent four times during the regular season (October – April) with the top eight teams meeting in the Final Eight.

The VTB United Youth League unites Russia’s top young players and was created by the VTB United League in 2013. This will be the league’s 4th season. Khimki won the title in 2013-14, while CSKA has secured the last two championships (2014-15 and 2015-16).
