On August 27, Moscow’s Krasnaya Presnya Park will host the Leopard Day festival, dedicated to the most endangered big cat in the world, the Far Eastern Leopard. Festival visitors will learn about the work being done to expand the Far Eastern Leopard population as well as other conservation efforts.
The Leopard Lair pavilion will feature lectures and movies, including LEO80: One Leopard’s Story, which captures the plight of a leopard caught in a poacher’s trap.
Visitors can also check out the Sports Leopard pavilion, sponsored by the VTB United League. Activities will include master classes on 3×3 basketball, baseball, skateboarding, fitness and rock climbing.
The festival opens at noon and entry is free. The festival’s headline sponsor is the Far Eastern Leopards nonprofit with support from the City of Moscow.
