The VTB United League organized and hosted a meeting with the 14 coaches in the League today in Moscow. General director Ilona Korstin, head of officiating Nikolaos Pitsilkas, review commission chairman Algimantas Pavilonis and EuroLeague refereeing director Richard Stokes were present at the meeting.
Changes to the FIBA rules, including how technical fouls are assessed and the rule for inbounding the ball. In addition, the coaches were informed about additional game situations when referees are authorized to use video replay.

– Prior to the start of the season, it’s important to be on the same page with the VTB League’s head coaches and inform them of changes to the basketball rules, which have been introduced this season. Refereeing experts answered all questions from the coaches and participated in the discussion. Over the course of the season, it’s inevitable that there will be some controversial decisions relating to officiating. These meetings are intended to help explain new elements to the coaches and answer any questions.
