VEF: The Latvian club began the season with a big loss to Khimki (-29). VEF couldn’t handle the visitors’ three-point shooting (19 from downtown), playing catch-up the entire way. Artis Ate was one of the few bright spots, scoring a career-high 19 points in the League. VEF will try to start fresh against PARMA and take advantage of the home court.
PARMA: Perm is the last team in the League to open the season, while long-time VEF star Janis Blums will be making his return to Riga, only now he’s wearing a PARMA jersey.
This is an important game for two teams that hope to be in the playoff chase. PARMA, in particular, could have used a few more wins like this last season.
