VEF Latvia – Kalev Estonia
Time: 7:30 PM (8:30 MSK)
Place: Olimpic Sport Center, Riga, Latvia
TV: VTB-League.com
VEF: The Latvians remain winless in the League, sharing last place in the standings with Tsmoki-Minsk at 0-4. Riga did add a new point guard, however, Jabril Durham, who played like a leader in his first game vs. Zenit, recording 15 points and four assists. VEF will be playing at home and boasts a 6-4 lead in the all-time series, but Kalev is favored in this one.
Kalev: After an impressive win over Nizhny Novgorod, Donaldas Kairys’ men have lost three in a row. Though not expected to beat CSKA or Khimki, the home game vs. Avtodor did not go as planned. Wednesday’s visit to Riga is a chance to get back on track and avoid dropping further in the standings. Ivan Almeida has been one of the League’s biggest surprises to start the season (averaging 20.3 points per game, 2nd in the League). Now it’s time for the team to break through.
