UNICS gets closer to the Semifinals

UNICS defeated PARMA-PARI at home in the Quarterfinals Game 2 – 94:59 (30:15, 25:21, 12:10, 27:13).

In the Game 1, the Perm team was able to hold off UNICS for a long time. But in the Game 2, the hosts decided to crush their opponent already in the first quarter. They did much of that. UNICS tough defense forced PARMA to make 8 turnovers, while the Kazan team used fastbreaks and was supported by Marcos Knight, Louis Labeyrie and Jalen Reynolds actions. As a result, the hosts had a double-digit lead after the first quarter – 30:15.

But Danila Pokhodaiev and Justin Roberson helped the guests to get the intrigue back. But their effort was enough only for a 10-point difference – 30:40. The class and rotation of the Kazan team easily stopped their opponents comeback. The second quarter was Daryl Macon’s time, as UNICS guard scored 9 points in 10 minutes. By the halftime, the hosts increased the lead to 19 points – 55:36.

The third quarter was calm. Both teams played with little effort and struggled to score. The hosts had obvious advantage and a a comfortable lead. By the final quarter, UNICS led by 21 and got the win.

Key factor
Defense was the key factor in UNICS’ win. The hosts let opponents score only 59 points.

UNICS is slowly coming into the season finale with a great shape. The Kazan team got the second win in a row since February 15.
