Tsmoki-Minsk unveiled the club’s new logo and a brand-new roster for the 2017-18 season at the Galleria Minsk on September 6. The new logo is a bold departure from the old version, featuring the Tsmoki-Minsk dragon and basketball.
Tsmoki-Minsk also announced that it will expand the team roster to 30, split into two groups. The first team, coached by Alexander Krutikov, will compete in the VTB United League and FIBA Champions League, while the reserves will play in the Belarusian League and Baltic League.
“It’s very important for us to create a competitive environment on the men’s team. Our strategy is simple. We want to give as many Belarusian players as possible an opportunity to reach the next level. We’re confident that playing in the VTB League and Champions League will help,” shared Tsmoki-Minsk general director Yuri Shakola.
Now every player on the reserve team will have a chance to join the first team based on their play, both during games and in practice.
Tsmoki-Minsk made big moves in free agency this summer, returning only three players from last year’s roster: Aliaksandr Kudrautsau, Aliaksandr Semianiuk and Mikita Meshcharakou. You can view every roster move in the VTB United League free agency table.
