The VTB United League SuperCup named after legendary coach Alexander Gomelsky will be in Moscow at the VTB Arena from September 21-24. It will feature six of last season’s best teams – CSKA, UNICS, Zenit, Lokomotiv Kuban, Pari Nizhny Novgorod and MBA, as well as two Turkish teams – Fenerbahce and Besiktas. The tournament will be organized by the League in cooperation with the Moscow City Sports Department.

The teams will compete for the Cup named after the legendary coach A. Gomelsky according to the Olympic system. Quarterfinals will be on September 21 and 22, semifinals and the 5-8 places games will be on September 23, and the deciding games are scheduled for September 24.

This year our pre-season tournament, organized jointly with Moscow Sport, will be in a new format. From September 21-24 at the VTB Arena, six best Russian teams from last season and for the first time two Turkish teams – Fenerbahce and Besiktas – will play the Olympic system for the main prize – the SuperCup named after the legendary A. Gomelsky.
The number of the tournament participants has increased, so there will be more games. Before the official start of the season, fans will have an opportunity to get a look on the renewed teams, see the newcomers in action and enjoy high-level basketball.

About the SuperCup: The first VTB United League SuperCup was in Moscow at VTB Arena in September 2021. CSKA, UNICS, Zenit and Lokomotiv Kuban participated, and the Army team became the first champions.
In 2022, the SuperCup became an international event, featuring four VTB League teams (Zenit, CSKA, UNICS, Lokomotiv Kuban), as well as two Serbian teams – Euroleague participants Partizan and Mega. Zenit won the tournament.
