The SuperCup 2023: 8 teams, new format, VTB Arena

The VTB United League SuperCup will be in Moscow on September 21-24 at the VTB Arena and will be organized by the League with the Moscow City Sports Department.

Eight teams will compete for the cup named after legendary coach Aleksandr Gomelsky under the Olympic system. Quarterfinals will be on September 21 and 22, Semifinals and 5-8 places games will be on September 23, and the deciding games are scheduled for September 24.

Participants: UNICS, Lokomotiv Kuban, CSKA, Zenit, Pari Nizhny Novgorod, MBA (all Russia), Fenerbahce, Besiktas (both Turkey).

About the SuperCup: The VTB United League SuperCup was organised for the first time in Moscow at the VTB Arena in September 2021. CSKA, UNICS, Zenit and Lokomotiv Kuban participated, and the Army team became the first champions of the tournament.
In 2022, the SuperCup became an international event, featuring four VTB League teams (Zenit, CSKA, UNICS, Lokomotiv Kuban), as well as two Serbian clubs – Euroleague participants Partizan NIS and Mega MIS. Zenit  won the SuperCup on 2022.
