Story
Trailing 77-74 with seconds remaining, Alexey Shved drained a huge 3-pointer to force overtime and help Khimki avoid dropping to 4-4 on the season.
Behind 32 points and 11 rebounds from Stefan Jelovac, Nizhny Novgorod looked nothing like a 2-4 team with losses to Enisey and Tsmoki-Minsk. The visitors went toe-to-toe against Khimki, shooting 45% from beyond the arc, and were only seconds from victory before Shved’s last-gasp triple.
In the extra period, Khimki jumped in front by six behind six points from Egor Vyaltsev. Jelovac cut the deficit to one twice in the final minute, including a deep 3-pointer with seven seconds to go, but the home team was able to hang on at the free-throw line and secure the win.
Shved’s Triple
Star
Alexey Shved. Despite free-throw misses in overtime, Shved won the duel with Jelovac (34 vs. 32) and matched his career high at Khimki, set in November vs. Zenit.
