The VTB United League President Sergey Kushchenko, at the invitation of the Uralmash club, attended Uralmash Russian Cup quarter finals game against Zenit (64:73).
During the working meeting, Kushchenko talked with the leaders of the Yekaterinburg team and the Ministry of Sports of the region; assessed the infrastructure, the game day management, work with fans and the prospects to join the VTB United League.
– Uralmash has previously declared to join the VTB League, now one of the most important regulations points has been done. The arena was reconstructed, made comfortable for fans, improved the appearance for TV pictures, now it looks modern, more for basketball. I would like to note that all tickets for the game against Zenit were sold.
Uralmash has made serious progress in several areas at once – the arena, work with fans, the infrastructure in general, and the sports component. The Super League champion has interesting and bright coach Mikhail Terekhov, also the team goes in the 1st place of the tournament.
The team has a serious private investor, which is also very important for the League. In fact, Uralmash has only to solve the key issue of filling the budget for the next season in order to submit an application to join the League.
