The VTB United League president Sergey Kushchenko noted the appearance in Russia of a specialized court for resolving disputes arising in professional sports.
— Since 2019, a specialized court — the National Sports Arbitration Center has been operating in Russia, which considers disputes, including those arising in professional sports. Our honorary president Sergey Ivanov was an active participant in this. Believe me, it was a very complex launch mechanism. In July 2020, adjustment were made to the federal legislation allowing NSAC to fully consider athletes, coaches and teams labor disputes. At the moment, VTB United League clubs already include in their employment contracts with the players of the main and youth teams an arbitration agreement on the transfer of labor disputes to NSAC for consideration. At the moment, the figure is already solid — 100 arbitration agreements have been concluded out of 175 basketball players with whom clubs have concluded employment contracts.
