The VTB United League Board took place on May 24. Following the results, a press conference was held with the Honorary President of the League Sergey Ivanov, the President of the League Sergey Kushchenko and the General Manager Ilona Korstin.
The VTB United League President Sergey Kushchenko spoke about the VTB Youth League and showed the relevance of competent work in this area using Lokomotiv Kuban as an example:
– We had changes in the VTB Youth League format. Instead of Final Eight, we had a Quarterfinal Series and Final Four, which was organised at the highest level in Krasnodar. As we mentioned repeatedly, Lokomotiv Kuban youth program is the most efficient of all the clubs in the League. They made it to the 2023 Finals, among other things, with the help of their own grown players.
Another figure: 80 youth players – nearly half of all VTB Youth League – got a chance to play in the VTB United League.
