On January 23, 1944, Sergey Belov was born. He was the hero of the 1972 Olympics, honored coach of the USSR and Russia, and a member of the FIBA Basketball Hall of Fame.
The VTB United League trophy, the Belov Cup, which teams have been competing for 15 seasons, was named in honor of the great player, coach and manager.
