The Russian Federation President’s special envoy for nature conservation, environment and transportation Sergei Ivanov, Tyumen Oblast governor Vladimir Yakushev, SIBUR Holding board chairman Dmitry Konov and VTB United League president Sergey Kushchenko took part in the School of Basketball’s regional camp.
Qualifying rounds for the #SIBURCAMP and #SIBURZENIT project are being held April 4-6 in Tobolsk at the local affiliate of Tyumen State Oil and Gas University.
The special guests met with coaches and participants in the qualifying round for the #SIBURZENIT project, engaging in a wide-ranging discussion about basketball and much more with the young athletes.
After the conversation, the School of Basketball select team and SIBUR-Tobolsk corporate team played an exhibition game. Prior to the start of the game, participants remembered the victims of the terror attack in St. Petersburg, which occurred on April 3.
Four of the top #SIBURZENIT athletes, as well as the #SIBURCAMP coaches, joined by Vladimir Yakushev, Sergey Kushchenko and Dmitry Konov, suited up for the School of Basketball team.
In a game that featured two 10-minute halves, the School of Basketball enjoyed a 40-22 win. Sergei Ivanov thanked everyone for playing a hard-fought game and named Dmitry Konov the game MVP.
