Parma management spoke about the club’s financial situation at a January 12 press conference.
According to Sergei Boguslavsky, advisory board member of the Parma Foundation for the Development of Perm Basketball, the club’s budget is fully guaranteed through the end of 2017. In addition, the team’s front office has had success attracting financing to compete in the 2017-18 VTB United League season.
The work has been successful thanks to the support of regional and city leaders, the team’s current sponsorship and efforts to increase income, including by attracting funds from private sponsors.
Sergei Boguslavsky, advisory board member of the Parma Foundation for Development of Perm Basketball:
“At the beginning of the season, the club faced certain difficulties. I want to say that they have been overcome. The club’s financial situation has stabilized. Moreover, next season’s budget should include participation in European competition. Of course, that’s at odds with the present results. That’s why we will work carefully to strengthen the roster.
The first result of this work is the announcement that we’ve signed a contract with Slovenian national team forward Sasha Zagorac. We’re also in talks with several other athletes. Zagorac should play in our upcoming home game against Zenit St. Petersburg.
