Samara ends the loosing streak with the win in Perm

Samara defeated PARMA-PARI on the road – 83:81 (25:16, 23:31, 19:10, 16:24).

The start of the game was equal and in the middle of the first quarter Samara began to increase the pace. Marcos Knight looked great, he did not only score, but was also responsible for playmaking. Jordan Theodore came off the bench and helped in Knight, Ivan Lazarev strengthened the game. The Volga team tried to create offensive opportunities and it worked – 25:16.

PARMA-PARI focused on fast-breaksand three-pointers. This tactic proved in the second quarter, when the Perm team offense was more effective compared to Samara. Justin Roberson helped with the offensive success more, Danila Pokhodiaev and Aleksandr Platunov threes helped a lot in fast breaks – the guests lead was only 1 point – 47:48.

In the second half, Samara managed to play in more comfortable rhythm: the third quarter began with the Volga team 13:2 run. And then there were no changes until the end of the quarter. PARMA-PARI did not score a lot, even Roberson did not help – only 10 points in 10 minutes and 67:57, Samara led before the fourth quarter.

At the right moment, PARMA-PARI started up, slowed down the opponent and started a pursuit. Long-range shots by Roberson, Platunov and Gleb Sheiko allowed the hosts to get closer to the opponent – 71:73 3:15 before the end.

The key moment
PARMA-PARI even took the lead for a short time. Pavel Antipov guarded Theodore and in the next possession he scored a three – 76:75. The game result was decided by individual plays. Knight soon found Filip Gafurov in the paint, who again put Samara ahead. In the next possession, Platunov missed three-pointer and KC Rivers used the chance and made decisive 3-point – 80:76 17 seconds before the end.
Then Rivers made free-throws, Sheiko scored a three. But the Volga team had the lead this time even after another Roberson made shot – already just before the end. The win brought Samara to th 7th place.
