The Russian national team won the preseason Friendship Cup, which took place in Perm on August 21-25.
The national team defeated PARMA 87:80 in the final.
Russian National Team: Aleksandr Chadov (17 + 5 rebounds), Vladislav Emchenko (17), Andrey Lopatin (15 + 6 rebounds), Aleksandr Khomenko (14 + 6 assists).
PARMA: Garrett Nevels (30 + 6 assists), Royce Hamm (13 + 8 rebounds).
Aleksandr Chadov won the MVP. The Russian national team and Pari Nizhny Novgorod bigman averaged 15.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in 4 games.
Four VTB United League players were named to the team of the tournament:
– Vladislav Emchenko – best shooting guard
– Garrett Nevels – best shooting forward
– Stanislav Ilnitskiy – best power forward
– Andrey Lopatin – best center.
