July 15, the draw for Champions League qualification and regular season took place in Switzerland. Nizhny Novgorod and Tsmoki-Minsk, United League representatives in one of the strongest European FIBA club tournament found out who they are going to play against.
Nizhny Novgorod who got into the tournament without qualification round for the first time is in group B with Nymburk (Czech Republic), Dijon (France), Zaragoza (Spain), Falco Szombathely (Hungary), Tofas (Turkey) and Start Lublin (Poland). One more group opponent will be known after qualification round, the winner of the Iraklis (Greece) vs Ceravnos (Cyprus) pair will play against the winner of Dnepr (Ukraine) vs Donar Groningen (Netherlands) pair.
Regular season starts on October 13. In play-offs, that start on March 2, there will be first 4 spots from each group.
Tsmoki will start their participation from qualification round. The first opponent is Balkan (Bulgaria), and if they win the series they would play against the winner of London Lions (Great Britain) vs Neptunas (Lithuania) series for the chance to participate in Champions League group stage. Qualification rounds will be held since 15 till 25 September.
We note that Nizhny Novgorod will participate in Champions League 2019/20 season continuation since September 30 till October 4. Zoran Lukic squad can make Final 8 if they beat Dijon in 1/8 final – the decisive game is held in September.
