Nikita Mikhailovskii wins young player of the 2020/21 season award

Avtodor guard Nikita Mikhailovskii has been named the 2020-21 VTB United League Young Player of the Year.

The Young Player of the Year is selected among players aged 22 and younger (born in 1999 or later). 

20-year-old Nikita Mikhailovsky played 24 games for Avtodor, averaging 8.5 points (51.4% from inside the arc, 41.8% from outside, 81.1% at the line), 2.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists to go with 8.0 efficiency points in 18.3 minutes. His best game of the season came against Kalev (87:61). In 24.3 minutes on the court, the Russian scored 24 points and a 24 efficiency rating. 

Nikita Mikhailovskii was also picked to the Russian Stars at the 2021 All-Star Game, which was held at Moscow’s VTB Arena on February 14. Avtodor guard was a starter and became second best scorer in the game with 30 points.

The Young Player of The Year award is given since 2012/13 season. The first winner was Sergey Karasev, who was playing for Triumph. Then, the award was won by Triumph guard Dmitry Kulagin, Edgaras Ulanovas from Neptunas (both in 2013/14 season), VEF forward Janis Timma (2014/15), Avtodor center Artem Klimenko (2015/16), Ivan Ukhov from PARMA (2016/2017) and Kalev player Isaiah Briscoe (2017/18). In 2018/19 season the Young Player Of The Year was also Nikita Mikhailovskii.
