– The status of the player attempting a shot has changed
It will be easier to determine whether a foul is a shooting foul or a non-shooting foul
– Technical fouls are now divided into two categories
Category 1—a serious on-court violation; Category 2—a more administrative penalty
– Instead of an unsportsmanlike foul, a destructive foul or a rough foul will be called
A destructive foul results in two free throws and possession; a rough foul results in ejection
– Two additional game situations have been added to the list of plays that can be reviewed via video replay
