Mikhail Kulagin Replaces Alexey Shved At The All-Star Game

CSKA guard Mikhail Kulagin will replace Khimki guard Alexey Shved on the Russian Stars roster at the All-Star Game in St. Petersburg.

– I’m happy to be playing in the All-Star Game. This is a great opportunity to show what I can do and play for the fans in St. Petersburg, – says Mikhail Kulagin. – This is a special moment for me: I’ll playing on the same team with my brother again.

According to Khimki’s official website, Shved aggravated an old injury on his left ankle in Thursday’s win over Zenit. He underwent a medical exam on Friday and was told to limit weight on the ankle and undergo rehab.

– It’s very unfortunate, but I have to miss the All-Star Game because of an injury, – says Alexey Shved. – I want to apologize to the fans who are coming to St. Petersburg and watching the All-Star Game on TV. I was really looking forward to it. But I’m confident everything will be terrific and everyone will have a great time at the game.
