Melo Trimble moves to CSKA

CSKA announced the signing of Melo Trimble. The agreement with the 28-year-old American guard is for the 2023/24 season.

Melo started his career in 2017 in the G-League, after which he went to Australia, Turkey, Venezuela, Spain and China. In the 2022/23 season, the guard played for Shanghai and averaged 17.5 points, 5.4 assists and 4.3 rebounds in the Chinese championship.

Emil Rajkovic, CSKA head coach:
– Melo is a player that already has decent experience in Europe, he played in ACB two years ago, then for Galatasaray in Turkey and a season in China. He comes from the well-known basketball school of University of Maryland. He was always one of the main players of his team. Here he will have a role of playing “one” and “two” next to Casper Ware, his task will be to create for himself and for the others. I wish him to feel comfortable on our team and provide us with the output that we expect.

Melo Trimble, CSKA guard:
– I’m very excited to be part of CSKA team. I’ve heard good things about this organization. I’m also excited to meet my new teammates and coaches. It’ll be my first time in Russia and also playing in the VTB League so I’m ready to give it everything I got and win!
