Story
Stefan Markovic drained one of the most remarkable buzzer-beaters in League history, stunning Tsmoki-Minsk and a packed Falcon Club with the game-winner from halfcourt as time expired.
Tsmoki guard Justin Gray had tied the game only seconds earlier, drilling a contested three on the perimeter, but Markovic answered in scintillating fashion, dribbling to the center circle and releasing the ball with only a few tenths of a second remaining. His desperation heave banked in, leaving the Belarusian crowd in stunned silence as Khimki celebrated.
Chris Czerapowicz scored a game-high 33 points on 7-10 shooting from the perimeter, helping Tsmoki-Minsk overcome an 11-point 4th-quarter deficit, but it wasn’t quite enough.
The Yellow-Blues improve to 12-9 on the season, taking control of 5th place. Tsmoki-Minsk drops into a three-way tie for 8th place at 7-13.
Stat
13-26 (50%) – Playing without Alexey Shved, 3-pointers were the key to Khimki’s win. Moscow Region took control of the game in the 2nd quarter via the three-point line and went on to win courtesy of Markovic’s last-gasp bomb.
