Lokomotiv-Kuban: In the last round Krasnodar improved their standings position beating Avtodor. Kuban for the second consecutive time (fourth of the season) scored 100+ points. However, this victory didn’t help Loko catch CSKA, who beat Khimki and still are 1 win ahead. From the other side, Zielona Gora’s defeat improved Loko’s top-4 position. However, last week brought some bad news to Krasnodar fans. In the victorious game against Trento, that let Evgeny Pashutin’s team make it to EuroCup quarterfinals, captain Stanislav Ilnitskiy was injured and will miss indefinite period.
PARMA: In the first round game PARMA defeated Lokomotiv for the first time in history. Adas Juskevicius had an incredible game, 33 points (17 of them in the last quarter). Interesting that the same result (17 points in a quarter) in that game was shown by Mindaugas Kuzminskas but his efforts weren’t enough to win. Technically, PARMA are on the way down, three defeats in five games. However, in all of lost games Ural played against top-7 teams (Zenit, Zielona Gora and Khimki) and all of them edned up in clutch: PARMA lost with 3-5 point gaps. Thus, although Lokomotiv-Kuban are front-runners, Perm will fight. In addition, if they win they’ll catch Avtodor in wins number, they are 8th now. In wins percentage PARMA will outpace Avtodor with even number of wins.
