CSKA vs Lokomotiv Kuban. Highlights
Comments after Game 5:
Emil Rajkovic, CSKA head coach :
– Congratulations to Loko for the win. Obviously, Loko players dominated in hustle and energy. We lost this game at the start, we lacked aggression. Of course, we also lacked our key player Nikola Milutinov. We have nothing to be proud of from this game and I want to apologize to all our fans for today’s game.
Now we have to fly to Krasnodar and play our game 6. I think our team must win and get a second chance to make the finals.
Aleksander Sekulic, Lokomotiv Kuban head coach:
– We played a very good game, both on defense and offense. I’m especially happy with the first quarter, which was nearly perfect. We didn’t give CSKA’s leading scorers an opportunity to make good shots, because we acted as a team, as we had planned. It’s important now not to relax, because the job isn’t finished yet. We have a very important game 6 ahead.
Samson Ruzhentsev, CSKA forward:
– I think Loko wanted to win today a lot more than we did. We lacked desire and effort, we underestimated our opponent even though this is game five of the series. I can’t say it was a matter of tactics or technique – we lost because we didn’t have enough desire.
Aleksandr Shcherbenev, Lokomotiv-Kuban guard:
– This is a very important and enjoyable win. But, as we know, this series is up to four wins, so with an opponent like CSKA we can’t relax. We will take the series to Krasnodar and will do everything we can to finish it there.
We did quite a lot today. CSKA missed their shots – and that’s also due to our defense. The hardest thing in such a situation, when you lead a lot, is not to relax, because you can fall apart like CSKA did in the game 3. We learn from other people’s mistakes.
