Loko showed master class in defense and doubled the lead in the Series

Lokomotiv Kuban defeated PARMA in the Quarterfinals Game 2 at home – 97:60 (21:12, 25:19, 30:15, 21:14).

Game progress
The Krasnodar team aggressive defense became a problem for PARMA. The Perm team scored only 7 points at the start of the first quarter. Loko actively used bigmen, who dominated the paint and helped the hosts take an early lead – 16:7. Evgeny Pashutin team had to finish the possession in the end, and only C.J. Bryce shined with 8 points. Also, the guests made turnovers, Loko used it in fastbreaks. So in the last 1.5 minutes of the first half, the Krasnodar team made 3 steals in a row, and increased the lead to 15 point by the end of the first half – 46:31.

After the break, B.J. Johnson and Isaiah Reese tried to lead PARMA comeback. but were able to make 2 of 7 shots in the third quarter. Loko leaders were more consistent – first DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell and Okaro White strengthened the hosts  lead, and then Karvel Anderson made 3 long-range shots in a row to bring the difference to 32 points. This run was the decisive – the Perm team couldn’t find the energy to attempt a comeback, and Aleksander Sekulic team continued to control the game and won the Game 2.

X-factor
The Krasnodar team was able to pull off a solid win with aggressive defense. Loko broke PARMA combinations, forcing the opponent to make 17 turnovers. The hosts also denied the Perm team leaders – Johnson made only 1 of 8 shots, and Bryce scored only 3 of 13 attempts.

Fact
For Loko, this win became the biggest in the rivalry history with the Perm team. The previous biggest win over PARMA was on April 22, 2018 – then the Krasnodar team won 94:64.

The Perm team played their worst game of the season and updated the team’s less scoring record. PARMA played its worst game on October 9 against Pari Nizhny Novgorod – 61:67.
