VTB United League executives–honorary president Sergei Ivanov and Sergey Kushchenko–took part in a charity game organized by the Walk Together foundation to support children with cerebral palsy.
The campaign is working to raise awareness about children’s cerebral palsy and prove that everyone in Russia is invested in their fate: from athletes to Olympic champions to TV hosts and government officials. This was the fifth charity game organized by the foundation.
Broadcast on Match TV, the game attracted many famous faces, including Russian Federation Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, Minister of Energy Alexander Novak, VTB Bank senior vice president Andrei Peregudov, Walk Together founder Gosha Kutsenko, famous athletes and more.
Sergei Ivanov and Lev Leshchenko coached the Walk Together and Likes for Good teams (the game ended in a 78-78 tie).
– For years, there’s been a wonderful atmosphere at these games. It’s really a great idea, – noted Sergey Kushchenko. – You see a lot of unnecessary stuff on TV and social media. Why not show people doing something good during prime time? They are the real heroes: People who help children and give them a chance to live and improve their quality of life. This type of game, as we see, can collect a lot of money and help a lot of children. Most of the time, it’s not made public. We can see the other stuff that’s shown on TV a different time… A special thank-you to Match TV for showing the game.
