Today, VTB United League Board meeting took place in TASS media-centre in online mode. The management of the League, representatives of 13 teams and National association members participated in the meeting. Before the beginning, Russian Sports Minister Oleg Vasilevich Matytsin spoke some words of welcome.
VTB United League became the first Russian League to hold and online-conference with all Board members and approve number of teams-participants, form and 2020/21 championship regulation.
13 teams will play in new VTB United League season: Avtodor (Russia), Astana (Kazakhstan), Enisey (Russia), Zielona Gora (Poland), Zenit (Russia), Kalev (Estonia), Lokomotiv-Kuban (Russia), Nizhny Novgorod (Russia), PARMA (Russia), UNICS (Russia), Khimki (Russia), Tsmoki-Minsk (Belarus), CSKA (Russia).
After regular season that will start in late September 8 League’s best teams will be determined. In 2020/21 season the champion will be defined in a 3-win series.
Moreover, at League’s Council there were CEO elections. Ilona Korstin has been re-elected, she holds this position since 2016.
