In a regular season game Khimki will host Astana.
Khimki (Russia) vs Astana (Kazakhstan)
Time: 19:30 (19:30 MSK)
Place: Russia, Khimki, BCMO
Broadcast: Match TV
Khimki: It was a hard week for the team. Because of injuries and COVID-19 positive tests numbers Khimki had to spend 2 Euroleague away games with 7 players on their roster. However, a day before the game vs Astana 4 Khimki players had recovered at once – Alexey Shved, Janis Timma, Jordan Mickey and Evgeny Voronov. Rimas Kurtinaitis emphasized that players should firstly get in shape after recovery, but with four starting players on the roster the rotation gets wider. Khimki is a front runner, of course, in addition they have never lost to Astana at home. All 3 wins in a 10-year confrontation were gained by Astana in Kazakhstan.
Astana: Emil Raikovikj team lost twice at the start of the season, but it was no surprise as they played against CSKA and UNICS. Moreover, Kazakhstan were lacking 2 internationals that were coming to Nur-Sultan for too long because of border-crossing difficulties. Now, situation has been improved: Devyn Marble and Ojars Silins joined Astana. Head coach Emil Raikovikj has already proved that his team may not have a perfect start of the season, but throughout the season they can take their course, thus Astana mustn’t be underrated.
