On February 24, VTB United League received an official statement from Kalev, where the club had decided to withdraw from the League.
Kalev, along with CSKA and UNICS, is a team that has participated in all League seasons since the 09/10 season. In the 2018/19 season, the Tallinn team reached the playoffs and took the highest 7th place.
VTB United League regrets that politics has interfered in sports once again . In 2014, Lithuanian teams left the League for the same reason.
In the near future, the VTB United League Directorate will make a decision on the current standings of the teams.
