The unique Ecoball 2.0 ball created by Jögel with the support of SIBUR was presented today during the “Eurasia is our home” exhibition at the II CIS and EEU Youth Forum in Sochi. The ball has been certified by FIBA and will become the official game ball for the 2023/24 season.
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitriy Chernyshenko attended the presentation of the ball, which was hosted by VTB United League President Sergey Kushchenko and Jögel brand founder Artur Movsesyan.
The Ecoball 2.0 ball uses recycled plastic: the interior of each ball is made from material made from high-tech recycling of 8 half-litre plastic bottles. Jögel Ecoball 2.0 was also the first Russian ball to receive top-level certification from FIBA.
The initiative to create the ball came from VTB United League honorary president Sergey Ivanov.
