The United League General Manager Ilona Korstin commented on the result of UNICS and Zenit game in Kazan (95:94):
– UNICS vs Zenit was not chosen as the Game of the Week for nothing. The teams showed great basketball at a high level. In the first quarter the League scoring high was set by the way – 34:34. Now sports fans are watching the World Cup and games are really interesting there. Therefore, today’s basketball game was like a fresh air for me.
It was difficult to determine the best: the teams battled from start to end and were not going to surrender. UNICS outplayed Zenit in rebound and was more effective. Jalen Reynolds made a key contribution to the Kazan team win with his 26 points and emotional attitude – the center looked very bright.
In Zenit I would to point out the MVP of November Thomas Heurtel: he made a double-double and scored a three-pointer in the end of the 4th quarter, which could have been the key – if the Kazan team led was less to one point.
