Russia’s first-ever business event focused on ticketing solutions and technology, the Moscow Ticketing Forum, was held March 22-23 at Otkritie Arena. VTB United League general director Ilona Korstin was among the speakers at the forum.
The project’s primary goal is to create a communication platform for key players in ticketing technology and solutions in Russia. Participants included around 300 representatives from Russia and abroad: ticket operators, services and ticket market agents, major sports, concert and festival organizers, museums, theaters, exhibitions, sports clubs and stadiums.
League general director Ilona Korstin spoke on the topic of “Ticketing and its Role in a Sports Venture” as part of the Expert Interview feature, discussing the League’s target audience and the experience of running the first-ever League All-Star Game in Sochi.
– We recently partnered with the British Higher School of Design to do in-depth market research. We’ve found that the VTB United League’s target audience is men ages 25-44 with above-average income. At the same time, we understand that we need to grow a new generation of basketball fans. For example, cross-partnerships, like the one with L’One at the All-Star Game in Sochi can help. Another goal we have is to make going to basketball games in Russia a family event.
