The General Manager of the United League Ilona Korstin commented on the participation of Serbian teams Partizan and Mega in the Super Cup:
– Two Serbian teams – Partizan and Mega – will make an excellent competition for the best Russian teams in the upcoming Super Cup. Partizan was champion of Serbia 21 times, the team is headed by the legendary Zeljko Obradovic. Mega is also known throughout Eastern Europe as the basketball superstars development center, which brought up the MVP of the last NBA season Nikola Jokic, for example.
Both Serbian teams are now actively preparing for the upcoming season playing friendly games and should arrive in the Super Cup in great shape.
Due to the participation of foreign teams, we have changed the format – this year the Super Cup at VTB Arena will be in 4 days, there will be more games and fans will have a great opportunity to enjoy high–quality basketball before the start of the League season.
The Super Cup will be from September 22 to 25 at VTB Arena and will be organized by the League and Moscow Sports Department. The 6 teams – CSKA, UNICS, Zenit, Lokomotiv Kuban, Partizan and Mega – will be divided into 2 groups. The group stage games will be on September 22, 23 and 24. The decisive day, which includes the 5th place game, the 3rd place game and the final will be on September 25.
