Zenit Evgeny Voronov will replace Avtodor center Artem Klimenko, out with an injury, on the Russian Stars roster at the All-Star Game in St. Petersburg.
The St. Petersburg captain is enjoying one of his best seasons in the VTB United League, averaging 11.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and a 10.4 efficiency rating.
The Russian guard set a new career high in Zenit’s win over Nizhny Novgorod on Saturday, scoring 23 points.
Voronov also played in the inaugural All-Star Game in Sochi last season.
– First of all, I want to wish Artem Klimenko a quick recovery. I hope he can get back on the court as soon as possible, – noted Evgeny Voronov. – As for the All-Star Game, I’m glad to be part of such a spectacular event once again. I remember the emotions everyone experienced in Sochi, both the players and the fans. I’m sure it will be another fantastic experience in St. Petersburg this year. It’s especially nice to play at home. I have no doubt the spectators at the arena and the fans watching on TV will really enjoy this celebration of the game.
