In the 2024/25 season, VTB United League will hold a play-in for the second time in the history. It will be a mini-tournament featuring the teams that finished 7th through 10th places in the regular season.
Here’s how the play-in will be:
Game 1: The 7th place team from the regular season will host the 8th place team at home.
The winning team of this game will finish regular season at 7th place and will face the 2nd place team at the end of the regular season in the Playoffs.
Game 2: The 9th place team from the regular season will host the 10th place team at home.
The losing team loses its Playoffs chances and ends the season.
Game 3: The team that lost Game 1 and the team that won Game 2 play on the court of the team that lost Game 1.
The winning team of this game will finish regular season at 8th place and will face the 1st place team at the end of the regular season in the Playoffs. The losing team loses its Playoffs chances and ends the season.
The play-in games will be on April 16 and 19.
