Quotes
Enisey head coach Oleg Okulov:
– As it turned out, the team spent too much emotional energy on the road trip. We didn’t manage to create comfortable conditions for those, who gave everything in the game vs. Loko, and create some sort of break in Bulgaria. We arrived in Krasnoyarsk yesterday morning. All of that builds up and affects the guys that play a lot. In that regard, Nizhny Novgorod was fresher and more rested. Nonetheless, we managed to keep the score even. Second, the fact that we didn’t go all-out in the exhibition game vs. Nizhny Novgorod in Latvia worked in our favor. Say as much as you want to your team about how the opponent can play differently than it did in the previous game…the players will still remember winning and winning by a lot. Today was a tough game, but we managed to turn the momentum and play a little better on defense than them.
Nizhny Novgorod head coach Arturs Stalbergs:
– We constantly lose focus, especially on defense. On offense, I don’t have any concerns, but on defense, we are relaxed and give up points. In the final minute, we decided to be aggressive, applied pressure, and almost caught them, but came up a little short of a win.
