Samara head coach Drazen Anzulovic talked about how the renewed team is preparing for the new season.
This week Samara played two friendly games – against MBA (66:67) and Avtodor (92:80).
«These were two very good games for us. Although against MBA we did not have the quality we want to see: the team did not have enough freshness, especially in the first half, in the second half we tried, but we still lost in the end. With Avtodor, the three quarters were very good. But the last one. I do not want to see my team play that kind of quarter. Mentally, the team was not at the level we demand. With a 24-point lead, the team was tired both physically and mentally. It should not be like that in professional sports and in my team.
But overall I am happy with these games, especially the first three quarters today. Of course, we still have a lot of work to do, but the team is getting better and better every day,» Anzulovic said.
Next up for Samara is a trip to Krasnodar, where Kuban Cup will take place on 14 and 16 September.
