Astana announced the signing of Darko Russo as head coach of the team. The contract with the 59-year-old Serbian specialist is designed for two seasons.
Darko Russo began his coaching career in 1994, heading the Serbian Beobank. During his 27 years of coaching he has managed clubs from Serbia, Montenegro, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine and Austria.
From 2017 to 2019, Russo devoted himself to working at Milos Teodosic’s TEO 4 basketball camp. In 2019, the specialist was invited to be the head coach of the Bahrain national team and became with it the bronze medalist of the 2019 Arabian Gulf Championship.
