Only at the start of the second quarter Vladimir Karpenko started CSKA run that turned into a 10-point lead. However, the hosts cut the difference to a minimum by halftime – 40:39.

Toward the end of the third quarter, CSKA switched to a simple, but very effective option of giving the ball to Tonye Jekiri in the paint. MBA players couldn’t defend against the bigman, who either scored easy points or earned fouls and made free throws almost without missing.
