VTB United League club CSKA won its fourth EuroLeague championship (Prague 2006, Madrid 2008, Berlin 2016) on Sunday. The Army Men defeated Anadolu Efes in the decisive game in Vitoria, Spain at the Final Four. CSKA was led by guard Cory Higgins and forward Will Clyburn, who each scored 20 points.
CSKA forward Will Clyburn was named the Final Four MVP. The American averaged 19.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists at the Final Four.
VTB United League general director Ilona Korstin shared her thoughts on CSKA’s win: “CSKA completely deserved this win. And after a difficult game with Real, they played even better than could be expected in the final. I was impressed by Nikita Kurbanov: He competed hard and did all of the dirty work. But the team, of course, got the win.”
