CSKA extends the winning streak

CSKA beat MBA in the Moscow derby and continued a record winning streak – 94:70 (20:19, 27:15, 21:16, 26:20).

CSKA (22-0) and MBA (13-9) were at 1st and 5th places. After the pause, the teams needed some time. In the first half, the opponents did not score a lot, the Army team had the lead, but the guests managed to stop the hosts to break away.

Only in the middle of the second quarter, CSKA managed to get confident lead. Casper Ware and Alexey Shved made shots let CSKA have a double–digit lead – 47:34.

Key moment
CSKA did not get along with long-range shots in the first half. At the start of the third quarter, Ware made 2 threes within 30 seconds. The American guard started a a 10:0 run, which became decisive – the home team’s lead exceeded 20 points. In the remaining time, CSKA controlled the game and got the the 23rd win in a row.

Key factor
MBA played without Anton Pushkov, 18-year-old Maksim Savchenko came in the starting-5 and Evgeny Valiev quickly collect fouls. All these factors and the presence of Nikola Milutinov allowed the Army team to dominate in rebounds – 41-29.

Fact
Alexey Shved was close to a triple-double at the end of three quarters – 15 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists in just 23 minutes. Emil Rajkovic decided not to use the team leader in the final quarter.
